The Aspire 5630 offers a relatively solid configuration for an under-$1,000 notebook, with a 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a roomy 120GB hard drive, and a double-layer DVD burner. Acer could face problems selling this unit, however. # computershopper Review:- The Aspire 5630 performed as we expected, scoring right down the middle in both our Futuremark PCMark05 and Windows Media Encoder tests. Battery life was mediocre, lasting 1 hour and 52 minutes in our DVD rundown test. That’s just enough to get you through many feature-length movies, but it still falls short of other midsize notebooks we’ve tested, such as the Gateway NX570X.

# Notebookreview Review:- Its great best laptop i’ve ever had coming from a Compaq V2000, may post some pics if you guys want. But I have a question its has the Nvidia Gefore Go 7300 now i noticed that the drivers were an old version. So i tried to update them, i downloaded like every driver on Nvidia’s site and every time its said that you have no compatible hardware. So I was wondering if you guys could point me to some drivers that are compatible. Now i dont knowif maybe its because the computer is running Media Center 2005 so… Oh by the way the current driver version is 8.4.8.5 and is dated 6/12/2006. so if you guys could help that be great.

# Amazon Review:- Having got a vista laptop from elsewhere a couple of weeks earlier and had so much hassle with it I ended up returning it before it drove me to a nervous breakdown. Chose this one because of the windows XP and so far it’s brilliant. Set up totally problem free and running like a dream. It is Vista capable, but I for one am in no rush to update until all the bugs in that software are sorted out. If you are looking for a second pc for the home this one is far more compatible with pre-vista pc’s, printers etc.
