Dell Inspiron 1520 Reviews
Dell has redesigned its consumer laptop range of late, with the Inspiron 1520 being a 15.4-inch version, while the 1720 offers a larger 17-inch panel. In keeping with this renewed focus on consumers, you’ll find you can choose from a range of eight different coloured lids, from blushing pink to standard black. These lids aren’t clip-on covers, but an integral part of the design. The first thing you will notice about this machine, other than the lid, is the sturdy build quality. Dell has learnt a valuable lesson, as the previous generation of Inspiron laptops suffered from a rather flimsy main body. This is no longer the case, as we found the 1520 to be well built and impressively tough.
The Inspiron 1520 is consistent with (to the point of being almost identical to) what has been written elsewhere. There was really only one thing about this notebook that bothered me, my preference for the all black Vostro 1500 notwithstanding: the play in the screen latch mechanism when the notebook is shut. Is this a big deal? I would say no, not at all.
There are so many positives, including the overall build quality, and so much flexibility in terms of configuration, the 1520 would seem to make a lot of sense for a wide range of notebook users, and a little bit of latch looseness should not be a determining factor. There are many fine notebook deals in the Sunday ads, as well as online, but there is often something about these machines, such as the keyboard, the graphics or the resolution, that would make me reluctant to purchase one of them. The 1520, or the Vostro 1500, for that matter, can be configured just right. If I weren’t already happy with my two laptops and in no hurry to get a replacement, I’d definitely consider the Inspiron 1520 or its nearly identical sibling, the Vostro 1500.

Dell Inspiron 1520 reviews From ciao
Although this machine is a bit on the bulky size, weighing in at a middleweight 3.2kg and measuring 36cm wide by 27cm deep and 4cm thick, this laptop looks smart, with its black cover, silver inner lining and its 15.4 inch screen
The keyboard section is laid out with simplicity, not too confusing to the eye, with the power button above it and the touch pad below.
On the left side there lies the heating vents, which never get too hot but simply blow out nice warm air, and not too noisy with it.
Also there is the WiFi sliding switch, which has three functions on the sliding path, on-off and search.
With the microphone and earphone socket the side look neat well organised.
