Folks in the States can now expect the brand new Dell ‘Inspiron 1525 coming to the market. Featuring 15.4-inch with Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 (1.66GHz) and supporting up to 250GB HDD and 4GB memory, the price is tagged at $499.
As for performance, you can expect a worry-free portable computing experience. With a Core 2 Duo processor and specially 2 gigabytes of RAM in our configured model at $950, everyday tasks are a breeze. The system does suffer from an integrated graphics chip but that’s mostly for power-intensive video editing tasks or if you want to try some of the latest games.
Your notebook, your looks! A range of cool, patterns, a spectrum of vibrant colors, a choice of finishes, eye-catching accents and a complement of color-coordinated accessories make the Inspiron 1525 the most colorful notebook you can find. With a comprehensive selection of wireless solutions spanning Wireless USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Mobile Broadband, we have you covered. And thanks to a family of antennas built into your notebook, you get outstanding connectivity no matter where you are.
The 15.4-inch widescreen is a boon for video enthusiasts and photographers with their first D-SLR camera, though I found that the screen image itself was a little wobbly—probably a preproduction thing. The 1,280-by-800 resolution is standard and doesn’t take away from the multimedia experience, although higher resolutions will improve the contrast. Thankfully, Dell did not touch the awesome, full-size keyboard, which can also be found across the Inspiron and XPS lines. The palm rests, unfortunately, have a grainier feel, removing the smooth, lustrous finish that can still be found on the Inspiron 1420. The 1525’s palm rests look a little cheaper, in my opinion.
The wireless connectivity options are not bad. Even though Intel 3945 802.11a/b/g is still not a bad choice, especially when you are squeezing components in a limited budget, the option to go for wireless draft-N is a possibility. If on-the-go connectivity is a prime concern for you, you’ll be glad to know that Inspiron 1525 adds the opportunity for mobile broadband, though you have to pay a premium for this one.

Reviews:-
# Dell Review:- This is my first laptop, so I don’t have much to compare to. That being said, it is everything I was expecting. No set-up needed, worked great out of the box. Looks very sleek- I think the white looks great with the silver intererior. Not used to all of the Vista features yet, but it doesn’t seem much different from XP. Love the scrolling spots on the touchpad. Multitasks well, switches quickly between windows for email, web, itunes, office applications, etc.
Fans are a bit loud, but it stays cool on the underneath and on the handrests. I thought it odd that when closed there is no latch, the screen just rests closed, but maybe that’s typical.
# Notebook Review:-The old days of bulky, overweight Dell notebooks may be coming to a close in 2008. Today Dell announced their latest addition to the Inspiron family of notebooks, the 15.4-inch Inspiron 1525. We are happy to have a pre-production unit to review, and this sleek successor to the Inspiron 1520 might just surprise you.
# Engadget Review:-Perks like HDMI out and solid battery life for this price range are icing on the cake, and there are multiple color options and patterns you can trick out your 1525 with, but for the most part this is a simple but nice budget laptop, so we’re guessing you’ve already got a decent idea if it’s what you’re looking for.
