panasonic laptops reviewsClassic notebook and practical tablet PC - the Panasonic  Toughbook 19 is the perfect 2-in-1 solution. For the conversion you need only tilt the pivoted 10.4″ XGA display over the keyboard.

While all other laptop manufacturers are going crazy on the release of Core 2 Duo laptops in their line up, Panasonic just added a Core Duo to its line of Toughbook. These notebooks still look as tough as ever and a record breaking brightness of 550 nits in the CF-19 and 1,000 nits in the CF-30. The picture below is that of a CF-19 which under its tough skin is run by a Pentium M 1.06 GHz U2400 Core Duo Processor.

Built from the ground up as a full rugged convertible PC, the Panasonic  Toughbook 19 can be used at all times, even in extreme levels of damp, dust, heat, cold or vibration. The optimized display technology with extra low reflection rate ensures excellent clarity of display even in bright ambient light.

With one quick swivel, the wireless Panasonic  Toughbook 19 transforms from a fully-rugged maximum-performance notebook PC to a fully-rugged handwriting-friendly tablet PC. Take handwritten notes, mark and edit documents and draw diagrams. It even converts handwriting to printed text. The Toughbook 19-tough times two.

Backed by the industry’s most trusted mobile PC manufacturer – Panasonic Computer Solutions Company – Toughbook’ service and support continually sets the standard. Collaborate with Panasonic Toughbook and partner with the best.

It has an 80 GB HDD, 512 MB of RAM (expandable up to 4GB), and a 10.4-inch XGA Touchscreen display. The

Touchscreen display comes with the option of Table PC. It also has an EV-DO or HSDPA WWAN, Bluetooth 2.0, a/b/g Wi-Fi and an optional GPS and fingerprint scanner. Overall the model has the same form factor, which measures 1.9-inch thick and weighs 5 pounds. The battery life has been upped and now gives 7 hours of standby.

The unusual thing about the Panasonic CF-19 and the CF-18 before it, is that despite being as tough as an armadillo, it’s also pretty small and light. Weighing in at 2.25kg and measuring 271 x 216 x 49mm (WxDxH), the CF-19’s proportions don’t indicate that it could withstand serious abuse, but believe me, it can. The video embedded on this page shows the CF-19 being dropped from a meter high, being doused in water, having someone jump on it and having it doused in more water with the lid open. You can also see from the video that the CF-19 still worked after all that punishment and was happy to be doused in yet more water when powered on.

Wireless options and MIL SPEC certifications for the CF-19 Tablet PC match those of the CF-30, so doodling and writing on a Tablet PC outside in a rainstorm is now doable.

The CF-30 has a few differences with the rest being the same. Here, there is a 13.3-inch XGA Touchscreen, and 1.66 GHz L2400 Core Duo Processor. This model is a bit on the heavier side weighing 8.2 pounds and manages just 6 hours of battery life. The CF-19 is priced at $4,200 (Rs. 1, 93,200) and the CF-30 at $4,700 (Rs. 2, 16,400) and should be out in the market this December.

 Panasonic Toughbook 19 Reviews:-

 # cdw Reviews: - The integrated Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology promises the highest performance with efficient energy consumption and the high performance lithium-ion battery provides an operating time of up to 8 hours.

Thanks to the dual diversity WLAN antennae in the display housing, optimum data transfer is continually achieved, enabling you to stay connected at all times.

# trustedreviews Reviews: - CF-29 I found it incredibly simple to navigate Windows with my index finger, but when I reviewed the CF-18 I realized that the 10.4in screen made this a little tricky. The same is true for the CF-19, which utilizes the same 10.4in screen, but Panasonic gets around this problem by hiding a stylus just below the screen. Continuing with the rough and ready theme, there’s also a supplied cord that attaches the stylus to the CF-19, to make sure that you don’t lose it while you’re kyaking down the Yukon.

 # notebookreview Reviews: - The CF-30 will be replacing the CF-29 while the CF-19 is replaced by the CF-18. However, the good news is the new machines are backwardly compatible with all accessories such as vehicle mounting equipment. The Pentium M based CF-29 and CF-18 will continue to be sold through various retailers.
